Introduction
Cytokeratin 8 belongs to the type B (basic) subfamily of high molecular weight keratins and exists in combination with keratin 18. Cytokeratin 8 is primarily found in the non-squamous epithelia and is present in majority of adenocarcinomas and ductal carcinomas. It is absent in squamous cell carcinomas. Hepatocellular carcinomas are defined by the use of antibodies that recognize only cytokeratin polypeptides 8 and 18.
BP001936-PRO-347: Recombinant Human Cytokeratin 8 (KRT8) Protein
Source: E. coli-derived.
Recombinant Human Cytokeratin 8 protein is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain having a molecular mass of 53,532 Dalton. Recombinant Human Cytokeratin 8 protein is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Purity: > 95.0% as determined by: (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC; (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: The protein (1 mg/ml) was lyophilized after from a sterile solution containing 30 mM Tris-HCl pH-8, 9.5 M urea, 2 mM DTT, 2 mM EDTA and 10 mM methylammonium chloride.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized KRT8 in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped with ice pack. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
