Introduction
KRT18 encodes the type I intermediate filament chain keratin 18. Keratin 18, together with its filament partner keratin 8, are perhaps the most commonly found members of the intermediate filament gene family. They are expressed in single layer epithelial tissues of the body. Mutations in this gene have been linked to cryptogenic cirrhosis. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
BP001933-PRO-349: Recombinant Human Cytokeratin 18 (KRT18) Protein
Source: E. coli-derived.
Recombinant Human Cytokeratin 18 protein is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain having a calculated molecular mass of 48,201 Dalton, showing a 45 kDa band on SDS-PAGE, pI-5.7. Recombinant Human Cytokeratin 18 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Purity: > 95.0% as determined by (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC; (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: The protein (1 mg/ml) was lyophilized from a sterile solution containing 30 mM Tris-HCL pH-8, 9.5 M urea, 2 mM EDTA, 2 mM DTT and 10 mM methylammonium chloride.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CK-18 in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Shipping: The product is shipped with ice pack. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
