Description

Introduction
Cytokeratin 14 is a member of the keratin family, the most diverse group of intermediate filaments. Cytokeratin 14 is a type I keratin, is usually found as a heterotetramer with two keratin 5 molecules, a type II keratin. Together they form the cytoskeleton of epithelial cells. Mutations in the genes for these keratins are associated with epidermolysis bullosa simplex. At least one pseudogene has been identified at 17p12-p11.

BP001932-PRO-348: Recombinant Human Cytokeratin 14 (KRT14) Protein

Source: E. coli-derived.
Recombinant Human Cytokeratin 14 (KRT14) Protein is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain having a molecular mass of 51,530 Dalton. Recombinant Human Cytokeratin 14 (KRT14) Protein is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Purity: > 95.0% as determined by (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC; (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: The protein (1 mg/ml) was lyophilized after from a sterile solution containing 30 mM Tris-HCL pH-8, 9.5 M urea, 2 mM DTT, 2 mM EDTA and 10 mM methylammonium chloride.
Reconstitution: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CK-14 in sterile 18 M?-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Shipping: The product is shipped with ice pack. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
Stability & Storage: Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
